Lucas Vialpando is the definition of inspiring. After being told by countless people in high school that he would never be able to wrestle, he defied odds and proved them wrong. Born with Cerebral Palsy,Vialpando doesn't have the full use of his legs. He cannot stand up or walk without crutches. But none of these details seem to bother Vialpando, and he set out to become a wrestler anyways.
Last summer he qualified and competed in one of the top high school wrestling tournaments in the nation, at 2013 Junior Nationals. Vialpando did not win the competition, but that hasn't stopped his dream. He went on and met with the US Wrestling team in Colorado Springs. He is hoping he can inspire the Olympic Committee to bring wrestling to the Paralympic games. "There is no better feeling than to get out there and succeed no matter what level you are at," said Vialpando.
While visiting the Olympic team, Vialpando had a chance to wrestle one of the Olympic coaches. Watch the video to check out his impressive moves!
