THORNDIKE — Despite being supremely undermanned against the two opponents, the Mount View wrestling team performed well on Wednesday night, Jan. 7 in a home meet against defending state Class B champion Camden Hills and Class A Oxford Hills of South Paris.
The Windjammers earned a split as they bested Mount View 40-18 and fell to Oxford Hills 51-27. The Mustangs also lost to the Vikings 66-18.
The individual Camden Hills and Mount View results were:
113 pounds — Hilary Merrifield, CH, pinned Chris Barnard, MtV, at 2:25; and won by forfeit over Oxford Hills. Barnard won by forfeit over Oxford Hills.
126 pounds — Camden Hills lost by forfeit to Jason Barnard, MtV; and lost by forfeit to Oxford Hills. Barnard was pinned by Taylor Gudeahn-Alleano, OxH, at 2:33.
138 pounds — John Underhill, CH, won by forfeit over Mount View; and pinned Talon Mederios, OxH.
145 pounds — Taylor Crosby, CH, beat Anthony Barnard, MtV; and lost to Dawson Stevens, OxH. Barnard was pinned by Dawson Stevens, OxH, at 3:56.
152 pounds — Alex Vokey, CH, won by forfeit over Mount View; and beat Jason Paradis, OxH.
