Senior Wilder Young of the Mount Desert Island High School varsity wrestling team faces off with an opponent Saturday in the Trojans’ first home meet of the season.

BAR HARBOR — Mount Desert Island High School wrestlers logged a few important victories in a small home meet Saturday. Junior Taner Bickford, a new wrestler this year, logged his first win, and senior Wilder Young won all three of his matches.
The Trojans hosted Woodland, Penobscot Valley High School, Brewer, Hampden, Piscataquis Community High School, Washington Academy and Mattanawcook Academy. With many wresters out due to family obligations or illness, organizers went with a tournament format rather than trying to match up teams.
